Missouri families deserve relief from excessive personal property taxes—but Representative Terry Thompson doesn’t think so. On March 13th, he voted against House Bill 903 which would have reduced personal property taxes on hardworking families like yours.

Every year, personal property tax is a nightmare at Christmas time for Missouri families, Families work hard all year long only to be get an outrageous tax bill on their family vehicle. Every year, these taxes force families to pay an outrageous bill just to keep a vehicle they’ve already been taxed on. Even worse, these taxes never expire—no matter how long you own your car or how much you’ve already paid, it never truly belongs to you.

And if you can’t afford the tax burden? Counties pile on excessive late fees, making it even harder for low-income families to stay afloat. HB 903 was designed to fix this, but Terry Thompson voted against it. Representative Terry Thompson voted against you and your family!
