Dear Legislator:

I am reaching out today because it is time to end the prohibition of cannabis in Indiana. And, I am asking you to encourage your colleagues on the public health committee to vote for HB1039. This legislation will spur economic growth and boost our local economies bringing revenue back to Indiana.&nbsp;<o:p></o:p><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p>HB 1039:&nbsp;<o:p></o:p><ul type="disc" style="margin-bottom: 0in; caret-color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Calibri; text-size-adjust: auto; margin-top: 0in;"><li class="MsoListParagraphCxSpFirst" style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 27pt; font-size: 12pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;">Supports our Veterans<o:p></o:p></li><ul type="circle" style="margin-bottom: 0in; margin-top: 0in;"><li class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="margin: 0in; font-size: 12pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;">According to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, around 20% of the 2.7 million Iraq and Afghanistan veterans will experience post-traumatic stress or depression. As stated by the Veterans Cannabis Project, “medical cannabis is a proven, safe, and common-sense personal health management option, free of the devastating side effects of opiate-based drugs.”<o:p></o:p></li></ul><li class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 27pt; font-size: 12pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;">Has a Positive Impact on Law Enforcement<o:p></o:p></li><ul type="circle" style="margin-bottom: 0in; margin-top: 0in;"><li class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="margin: 0in; font-size: 12pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;">Allows Hoosier law enforcement to prioritize their finite resources more effectively towards their core mission of solving and preventing property and violent crimes.<o:p></o:p></li></ul><li class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 27pt; font-size: 12pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;">Reduces Opioid Abuse and Dependence<o:p></o:p></li><ul type="circle" style="margin-bottom: 0in; margin-top: 0in;"><li class="MsoListParagraphCxSpLast" style="margin: 0in; font-size: 12pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;">Opioid addiction is one of the largest problems the state faces. Peer-reviewed scientific studies confirm that the use of medical cannabis decreases opioid use and improves quality of life. Let’s give those in pain a safe and legal option for relief and enhance the health of all Hoosiers.&nbsp;</li></ul></ul>
