I’m writing as a concerned Ohioan who believes it’s time for bold action to support working families and grow our economy. Ohio families need relief – cut the tax, not the paycheck and save our salary!
A recent study by Americans for Prosperity shows that phasing out Ohio’s personal income tax over ten years, paired with responsible spending cuts, could generate $12.9 billion in economic growth and create 81,000 new jobs by 2032. That’s a future worth fighting for.
We have a real opportunity to make Ohio the first state in the Midwest with a 0% income tax by 2030. This would not only put more money in people’s pockets, but also make our state more competitive, attracting new businesses and residents.
Other states are already moving in this direction. If Ohio doesn’t act, we risk falling behind in job creation and economic opportunity. Thankfully, we’ve made progress—since 2009, Ohio has gone from nine income tax brackets to just two, with lower rates. Now is the time to finish the job.
I strongly support the Ohio Senate’s push for a flat 2.75% income tax as a smart next step. It simplifies the tax code, supports families and small businesses, and sets us on the path to eliminating the income tax entirely.
I also urge you to support reforms that make government spending more transparent and controlled. Responsible budgeting is key to making this transition work.
Please stand with Ohio families and workers. Let’s lead the Midwest in economic growth and opportunity.
