Expanding government-run health care will plague our system with bureaucracy that will make it difficult for patients like me to access quality, affordable health care. Instead, we want a personal option that gives us the choice and control we want, the affordability we need and the quality we deserve. I urge you to support these reforms that improve access to quality, affordable care.
Ensuring providers can focus on providing high quality care.
- Expand the scope of practice for APRNs, ensuring these providers are able to practice to the full extent of their training
- Allow qualified internationally trained physicians to more easily practice in Wisconsin, by accepting international residency programs
Ensuring every patient can access quality care they choose.
- Ensure access to direct primary care clinics, which provide an additional option for patients to access needed care
- Eliminate arbitrary caps and regulations on nursing home beds, to help improve access to long term care across the state
- Increase access to telehealth options for all patients
Ensure affordable and transparent costs.
- Protect access to short-term limited duration health care plans to help lower insurance costs for families
- Eliminate minimum markup on medical supplies to make these supplies more affordable
- Allow for prompt pay discounts when paying for health care services to provide a lower cost option
These policies will help expand and protect access to quality, affordable health care for all Wisconsinites and ensure we control our own health care, not the government. I urge you to reject any efforts to expand government run health care and instead support these bills to protect our personal option.
