Tell lawmakers: Don’t wait to pass crucial health care reforms!

Pennsylvania lawmakers have been considering legislation that would expand access to critical health care services for those who need it.

These services include: Telemedicine, which would enable people to have remote consultations with licensed health care professionals. During the height of the pandemic, telemedicine gives high-risk individuals the ability to access quality care from the safety of their homes. Expanded scope of practice, which would allow advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) to deliver health care without supervision after so many hours of clinical work. APRNs possess a variety of skills they will be free to use to provide care, and, when their scope of practice is broadened, physicians can spend more time with more patients. Association Health Plans would give businesses the ability to band together and negotiate discounted insurance coverage just as large businesses can do through the group insurance market.

This means greater access to more affordable care. The good news is that these reforms have bipartisan support in both chambers of Pennsylvania’s legislature.

With legislators from both sides of the aisle uniting behind these bills, why wait?

Tell lawmakers there’s no need to delay passing these reforms. Pennsylvanians need expanded access to health care now!
