Governor Polis,

As you've promised in the past, I urge you to oppose HB26-1005 because it undermines long-standing worker protections and
strips employees of their freedom to choose whether union representation is
right for them.

For decades, Colorado has protected workers’ rights to
decide for themselves—without coercion—whether to join a union and pay union
dues. HB26-1005 weakens those protections and tilts the balance of power away
from individual workers and toward special interests. This bill would allow
workers to be pressured into union representation and forced to financially
support organizations and political activities they may fundamentally disagree
with. No worker should be compelled to give up a portion of their paycheck to
fund causes or agendas they do not support.

HB26-1005 also threatens Colorado’s economy. By increasing
labor costs and reducing flexibility for employers, this legislation would make
Colorado less competitive, discourage job creation, and drive-up costs for
small businesses and consumers alike—fueling inflation at a time when families
are already struggling to make ends meet.

At its core, HB26-1005 diminishes the constitutional
principle of freedom of association and removes critical safeguards that ensure
workers have a meaningful voice in decisions that directly impact their
livelihoods.

Please oppose HB26-1005 and stand up for worker freedom,
economic opportunity, and Colorado’s future.
