On August 23, 1775, Royal Governor John Wentworth fled Portsmouth, and Royal rule in New Hampshire came to an end: clearing the way for the Granite State's independent government just months later.

Join us to commemorate this pivotal moment in NH history! The evening will feature an inspiring panel presentation on the 250th anniversaries of both New Hampshire and America's independence and exploring what liberty truly means today.

Dinner and a drink will be provided by AFP-NH!
When: Wednesday, August 19, 2026, 6:00PM-8:00PM
Where: Grill 28 at Pease Golf Course, Tented Pavilion, 200 Grafton Rd, Portsmouth, NH 03801
Speakers:

AFP Deputy State Director Sarah Scott
