Wisconsin Public Service Commission Awards Utilities Another Rate Increase for 2025-26
$2 billion in increases since 2019
In November 2024, the Wisconsin Public Service Commission awarded utilities roughly $585 Million in rate hikes to go into effect starting January 1, 2025. This increase brings the total to $2 Billion since 2019.
Wisconsin residents once enjoyed some of the lowest utility rates in the country but now face some of the highest rates in the Midwest.
These continued rate hikes are placing an unbearable burden on households and threatening the survival of businesses in Wisconsin.
With rate increases approved, the utilities are now working on proposals like right of first refusal to further increase their profit margins.
