Join AFP-Arkansas for a Day At The Capitol to “Empower Education” and rally support for empowering parents with greater choices in their children’s education. We will grassroots lobby on the following policies:

Student-Based Funding

Student-based funding allows families to control their children’s educational funding and spend it to design an education system that suits their unique needs. In most states, schools are funded before students. That means someone besides a family is making decisions about what is best for the student and where that student is best served. Students and families should be the primary decision-makers, not bureaucratic systems. That’s why every family should get to decide how their student’s education funding is spent.

Statewide Open Enrollment

Open enrollment policies allow students to attend the public school that better meets their educational needs, regardless of where their family can afford to live. Every student in the state should be eligible to participate in open enrollment. Student enrollment should be transparent and based on a school’s capacity.

The Day at the Capitol will include:

Empower Education Rally with Guest Speakers
Grassroots Lobbying to Encourage Legislators to Support Education Freedom Policies
Meeting with Governor Sanders
Evening Empower Education Meet and Greet Dinner with Policy Champions
Meals Provided
AFP-Arkansas Tee-Shirts and Swag for Attendees
