Standing with fellow Texans to make property tax reform real
The Problem
Texans work hard, and our state leaders have taken bold action to deliver property tax relief. Yet many families and small businesses are not feeling that relief in their pocketbooks. Why? Because too often, local governments undo state progress through runaway spending, hidden debt, and confusing practices that drive tax bills higher than ever.
The Texas Taxpayer Pledge
As a Texas taxpayer, I pledge to stay engaged at the local and county level to demand accountability and fairness. I commit to:
- Stop Reckless Spending – Advocate for strict local spending limits tied to population and inflation growth.
- Promote Voter Approval – Ensure taxpayers—not politicians—decide when new debt or higher taxes are on the table.
- Shine a Light on Hidden Debt – Oppose the use of non-voter-approved debt that leaves the taxpayer with bills they never consented to.
- Restore Power to the People – Support stronger ballot transparency, end low-turnout tax elections, and ban taxpayer-funded lobbying.
I stand with my fellow Texans to make property tax reform real—locally, fairly, and permanently.
Why It Matters
Property taxes should never be a barrier to the American Dream in Texas. When taxpayers stand together—showing up at city halls, county budget hearings, and local meetings—we ensure relief is real, sustainable, and felt by every Texan.
This pledge is more than words—it’s a promise to fight for accountability and restore the power of the people in Texas.
