Dear Legislators:

As a constituent and taxpayer I'm asking you to stand up against phony tax relief that is the LAVTR. Kansas had this policy nearly 20 years ago and citizens never saw the benefits. Instead, counties developed a slush fund and we had to pay for it through other tax increases.
Instead of adding another middleman to the process, I'm asking you to give meaningful property tax relief to citizens instead of reviving a failed zombie program that actually saw property taxes RISE last time we had LAVTR!
Please REJECT LAVTR and stand up for better budgeting and responsible spending instead of always trying to take more from the pocket of the taxpayer!

Local government continues to try to pass the buck and ask taxpayers for more and more. At a time when Kansas families are feeling the effects of bad policy causing them to tighten their belts, why should government not have to do the same?

LAVTR has never worked to actually lower property taxes for Kansans. In fact, property taxes ROSE while LAVTR was in place. It's time our elected officials at all levels took the reigns of runaway spending and put in place meaningful reform to reduce Kansan's property tax burden!
